In my book I Am A SEAL Team Six Warrior the best thing is the description that the author goes into when he is describing the setting. It helps you paint a picture of the setting in your mind. "Light brown and white sand bordered the emerald sea. It would've been the prefect setting for a vacation resort." (90) This quote helps you paint a picture of where they are station  in Somalia. This is really the only place in the city that had not been torn apart by civil war. "Because of the tannic acid from the pine and other vegetation, both the Little Satilla and Lake Grace are so black on a good day you can't see your feet in the water" (11) This is a great describing quote because you can just picture not being able to see you feet on a good day.

The book I am reading right now is I Am A SEAL Team Six Warrior. I chose this book because when I saw the cover of the book i looked very interting. The point I am in the book is the main charchter Howard Wasdin going through traning to become a Navy SEAL. After having a childhood of being beaten by his step-father he was prepared for this experince. When every one was droping out of the course he was wandering why they were and was calling them sissys.

I would recommend Friday Night Lights  to someone who likes to read books about sports and really football. This book also has history to it because it is a true story from a team in Texas. They also made a movie and a T.V. series.

Reflective Blog

One thing I struggled with was I didn't read my book enough at the beging of the school year. I over came this by reading my book more at home. One strenght I had was I could always find somthing to say about the book when i was bloging.

This blog meets the rubic expetions for charaters because it goes in depth on one main character in the book. It also explains on how he changed through the book and he changed for the better. In the quotes i pulled out it will tell you how he changed during the book.

Some goals I have for next trimester are finish more than one book. Some goals I have for writing are to have better grammar and work on my spelling. I want to end the trimester with an A all tri's. The areas of improvement I want is grammar and spelling.

  The theme in Friday Night Lights is a team will always have your back because  when  a team member gets into a fight they will always have your back. ''Every time he made a good block, the defender would line up across from him the following play and say..." This quote describes how    they would  have his back if they ever got into a fight.                                                                                                                                                                                 

In Friday Night Lights there is a character named Boobie Miles who is the starting running back for the team. He lead the team with the most yards last year and had college scouts looking at him every game like Texas A.M. "The pre-season scrimmage in the late August twilight had barely started when Boobie peeled off a run that gave glimpses of why college recuiters were after him."(53) this quote says how he is one of the greatest running backs in Texas but it comes before he ends up hurting his knee half way through the season.

"Boobie stood behind the other players glassy-eyed, his hands clasped."(198) Boobie thought that he wouldnt get in because he had missed over a year and had losted his starting position to the man that was behind him in the depth chart.

"They jacked me. If i dont play,I'm not gonna suit up. You know me. If i suit up, Iwant to play."(196) This was Boobies attuide to playing his first week back since he had been moved to 2nd string after he had been out for over a year.

"Durning the next week, when it became clear he was going to get a chance to play, his mood alternated."(197) Boobie Miles there star running back had just  come back from his knee injury. This was the first game in over a year that he acutaly got to play in. When he finnaly got in he didnt preform to his expetions of what the colleges wanted him to be able to do.

I predict in Friday Night Lights that the hight school team will make into the playoffs but will not win because of all the injerys that take place on the team and they will have a winning recored. Im wondering if the team will be as good as they have been in past years like winning state titles? I can rmake a text to text connection with my book and  The Blind side because both of the books are about highschool football. I can make a a text to self connection because I know the preassuere of having another winning season and having back to back leage titles.

In the book Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger it is about a small town in Texas and football is all they have. The book startes off with the first offical day of pratice with there not being on sign of life anywhere in the town of Odessa, Texas.  The coach states off the season with saying how they are going to be state champions "Winning a state champions. Making All-State andand gaining a place on the Permain Wall of Fame." ( Bissinger 24) The coach is saying that if they put in the will and the time they can achive great things and be remember forever at the highschool and let thier legacy live on with the will of the rest of the time the highschool still stands."

My summer reading project I read The Good Soldiers by David Finkle. The central idea  for this book that they were invading a country that didn't attack them, it was a group of people so they were just trying to keep a positive outlook on the war. The main character of the book is Ralph Kalzarich, he is the man that has made friends with most of the native people in the area. he devlops by not liking any of the native people but, by the end of the book he likes most of the native people.

 The artical is about how simalar this book is to one writen befor about world war 2. It goes on about the main character life in war.
